May 24, 2016 sees the race circuit at Silverstone taken over by Car Dealer Expo 2016, or #CDX16, to give it its social media hashtag.
Run by Car Dealer magazine, the one day event promises to be the UK’s biggest show dedicated to the retail automotive industry. The focus of #CDX16 is exclusively on the motor trade, making it a key event for dealers in new and used cars.
The show was attended by more than 1500 visitors in 2015, and the 2016 event looks set to be even bigger, with three halls as well as smaller spaces for meetings and workshops, and room for informal groups and discussions.
More than a hundred exhibitors are expected, from all areas of the industry, including dealers, suppliers, manufacturers, insurance firms, and many more.
There will be a dedicated area for manufacturers to promote their brands to dealerships. Dealers can also benefit from the programme of events on the Car Dealer stage, featuring Q&A sessions, celebrity guests, and live interviews with figures from the industry.
Even more help and advice is on offer at the Dealer Advice Bureau, where one to one sessions with automotive experts will run throughout the day to tackle dealers’ concerns and problems.
This is the place to go if you have questions about anything, from how to order and use trade plates to the right insurance policy for your business.

Attendees can expect keynote speeches from influential figures both inside and beyond the motor trade. Last year’s speakers included representatives from social media giant Twitter, as well as Google, whose automotive interests include mapping software and a self-driving car project.
Workshops and breakout sessions will take place in meeting rooms alongside the main halls, allowing delegates the chance to get together in smaller groups and discuss various aspects of the industry.
The workshops will be led by speakers from the industry, with the aim of inspiring and educating attendees. Topics covered in the breakout sessions will include ‘Top 140 Dealers On Twitter’ and ‘Women In The Motor Industry’.
The Silverstone circuit, with its decades of motor racing history, is a great choice for an automotive event. Situated in the East Midlands, near Buckingham and Towcester, it’s easy to reach from London, Birmingham, and further afield.
Attendance for delegates is free, making #CDX16 a good opportunity to check out what’s new in the industry and to benefit from networking.
