Competition And Markets Authority Increase Spotlight On UK Fuel Prices

Motorists currently struggling to afford the cost of putting fuel into new and used cars may be heartened to hear officialdom has been investigating the whole fuel-price saga. In June 2022, following prompting by Business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng, the CMA (Competition and Markets Authority) committed to an urgent review of the UK’s volatile fuel market, their report was published on 08 July.

Summer 2021 Fuel Prices In The U.K

The pandemic appears to have had a mixed impact on motoring costs: Supply issues are pushing up new and used vehicle prices, while large-scale home working has reduced vehicle use and cut motor claims, thus lowering the cost of an insurance policy. VED And Fuel Duty Freeze

Some good news for the motor trade sector in the recent 2021 UK budget which has been well received by the industry, as well as many private and commercial drivers. The chancellor announced a freeze in fuel duty at the same time as extending the furlough scheme, fuel duty will remain frozen at 57.95p a litre for 2021-22.
