The UK motor trade industry is slowly climbing back on its feet following a number of challenging situations over the last 18 months, and Car Dealer Magazine will once again be awarding a number of outstanding companies from the motor industry with a trophy in their 2020 Car Dealer Power awards.
Unicom Insurance will be looking to recapture their 2019 title of ‘motor trade insurance provider’ for the second year running, after winning the award for the second time (2017) last year at the landmark Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth, thanks to be voted number one provider by both customers and businesses.

Car Dealer Power awards are now over a decade old, starting way back in 2010. Hundreds take part in an all-embracing survey which lets the UK motor trade dealers speak freely about manufacturers and suppliers they work with and use on a regular basis.
The survey is carried out anonymously and voters do not hold back, their feedback is also passed on to the companies that they carry out their business with.
Last year James Baggott, chief executive of Baize Group, parent company of Car Dealer Magazine publisher Blackball Media, opened proceedings by saying: ‘I can hardly believe this is the 10th Car Dealer Power, but the fact that this magnificent event has gone from strength to strength speaks volumes.
‘It also never ceases to amaze me how innovative these companies are, with their ideas for products and services helping the automotive sector to evolve and thrive. Long may this continue – and congratulations to everyone!’
Full coverage of the event including winners, quotes and photographs usually appear in Car Dealer Magazine following the ceremony, it will be interesting to see how this year’s event is managed considering the UK government Covid restrictions.
